Sister de Lourdes Keane, who has been a much loved member of our school community for many years, passed away peacefully this morning. Though she was not known to our younger students, Sister de Lourdes will be well remembered by many of our parents, past pupils and senior girls, as well as our current and retired staff.
St Brendan’s School has long been known for its passion for sport and its love of music, and owes much of its success in these areas to the amazing Sister de Lourdes. Driven by her faith and vocation, her caring disposition, her fantastic wit, and her wide range of skills, she guided our school through the preparation for many a mass and sacrament, countless musical performances, and an impressive number of Barber Cup wins. Sister de Lourdes truly embodied the ethos of St Brendan’s and would always see the potential in every child that crossed her path.
We will forever be grateful to Sister de Lourdes for all that she has done for our school.
