Yesterday the senior classes visited the library in Blackpool to hear a lady from Dogs Trust speaking about caring for dogs. She had a fabulous dog with her who entertained the girls as he was trying to get his treats out of a special dog toy.
The girls learned about the importance of feeding, grooming and walking their dogs, even in the rain and how hey should treat their dogs with kindness and respect. What they should do if they were attacked by a dog is something that is good to know but hopefully knowledge they will never need to use. She also spoke about the importance of microchipping, how it works and the fact that it is now the law for all dogs to be microchipped.
Dogs Trust care for abandoned and mistreated dogs. They nurse them back to health and then get good homes for them.
