Litter and Waste
Our first green flag was for Litter and Waste. The committee and whole school community put a huge amount of effort into reducing waste by reducing, reusing and recycling. The amount of packaging for lunches was rerduced by using more lunchboxes and beakers instead of disposable items.
Batteries, ink cartridges and old phones were, and still are, collected in our recycling area. The amount of waste produced was reduced by 20% which was a major achievement.
We were presented with our first flag in March 2011 and the flag was later raised by Sr Goretti, former principal of the school.
