What is the Pieta House Amber Flag initiative?
The Pieta House Amber Flag initiative recognises the individual efforts of primary schools to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well-being. This involves working together towards a happier, healthier school that eradicates the stigmas associated with mental health issues.
To be awarded the Amber Flag we will be hosting a mental health awareness event, doing a fundraiser for Pieta House and undertaking regular activities to promote positive mental health.
The programme encourages teamwork and student contributions and works with school staff to include a peer-support element.
Weekly meetings are held on Wednesday’s at lunchtime and there are representatives from 1st class upwards,
