The Lord Mayor, Cllr Catherine Clancy got a resounding St Brendan’s welcome today as she came on the first day of her school visits. As Lord Mayor Clancy is only the fourth woman ever to be First Citizen of Cork and the fact that she has a great interest in and involvement with the people of The Glen, made her visit extra special.
She spoke about the fact that when she was in school herself that all the Lors Mayors who visited were men and that she never dreamed or imagined that one day she would be Lord Mayor herself. Her message was that if you work hard, anything is possible.
